Who would have thought castor oil

has a plethora of benefits for

your skin, hair, and nails?

I sure didn’t, but here I am five months down the line with castor oil, ready to share my updates with you!

A quick little back story about Castor Oil

Castor oil is derived from the seeds of the Ricinus communis plant, and it has been around for centuries. Historically, a castor oil pack has been used for medicinal purposes.

Skincare and haircare experts speak highly of castor oil and it is available in various forms, including cold pressed castor oil, jamaican black castor oil. Which it is often mixed with a carrier oil, like olive oil, sesame oil, coconut oil and many essential oils for various natural remedies. Some of these natural remedies are beauty benefits and some hair care or even to help with hair loss.

Castor oil packs are also used for improving digestive issues, immune system related issues, reducing inflammation, and providing relief from arthritis and many other ailments.

Today I share my personal testimony!

There is limited scientific evidence supporting the benefits of castor oil. Doctors and scientist don’t have research or proper studies on this centuries old natural remedy, more research is certainly necessary. But many people have reported positive experiences far and wide.

And I will add my experience to the conversation and share some things that may even shock you.

How it all began

My initial journey began

November 2023

This when I was first introduced to castor oil from another content creator who gave it a glowing review.

Her testimony was so compelling, I had to try it immediately! I jumped in full force, applying it nightly right, all over, right from the beginning.

What transpired over my first 60 days, was so notable that I HAD to make a video about my results. My castor oil benefits were so evident I felt I had to share my personal journey with the others. For the hope that my story may help just one other person out there.

I’m not a healthcare expert or esthetician. Keep that in mind as I share the benefits I personally experienced and the perks castor oil brought me. However, it is crucial to consult with a healthcare provider before using castor oil, especially for those with medical conditions.

Oh and I will also share a list of beauty benefits I found too! With my video nearing 2 Million views, I think my story resonates with many.

Top 5 Benefits Of Castor Oil:

What Is Castor Oil Used For?

1. Nourished Skin & Hydration

I’m someone who has had dry and sensitive skin my entire life, and no amount of serums or lotions could keep me hydrated throughout the day. However, I discovered that cold pressed castor oil is an effective moisturizer that has significantly improved my skin’s hydration.

Castor oil is rich in fatty acids, which helps to nourish and protect the skin. It creates a barrier that locks in moisture, making it an excellent choice for those with dry skin.

Additionally, castor oil is a natural remedy for dry skin, providing relief and promoting overall skin health. It turns out castor oil is a rich composition of fatty acids, making it an exceptional moisturizer for the skin.

Cold pressed castor oil, with its rich composition of fatty acids, penetrates deep underneath the skin layers and leaves it looking supple and smooth.

You can see a noticeable difference in the first video I ever did, and compare it to my latest one (I think I’m a lot more radiant and glowy). If you’re someone who has suffered with the array of dry skin issues out there, I feel like this will give your skin the much needed boost it has been needing.

2. No More Acne or Blemishes

Surprisingly, despite being an thick oil, castor oil possesses potent antimicrobial properties and anti-inflammatory properties. Castor oil applied to the skin topically, should work no matter your skin type oily, combo, or dry.

People have asked me if I have had any breakouts, redness, or irritation since this was a new addition to my skincare routine, and surprisingly – no! Quite the opposite, castor oil has unclogged my pores and reduced inflammation.

I believe my pores have never looked better and smaller, and my makeup glides on effortlessly!

3. Reduce Skin Discoloration

This one was another shocker, but I have noticed improvement in the skin discoloration I have had my entire adult life: from dark circles lightening around my eyes, to me melasma on my cheeks fading, and eczema on my legs finally under control.

Since the product is packed with essential nutrients like vitamin E and omega-6 fatty acids, it nourishes the skin and cells, promoting circulation and encouraging healthy activity.

Since it is a natural product, why not give it a try?

4. Eyelash and eyebrow fullness for hair growth

If you’re someone who struggles with thin and sparse eyelashes and eyebrows, like me, I recommend moisturizing your face regularly to promote healthy growth of your eyelashes and eyebrows.

Its nourishing properties minimize breakage while conditioning your natural hair and promoting voluminous and healthy growth. Although this wasn’t my initial reason for trying castor oil, I can say that my eyelashes are longer, fuller, and there are certainly more than I can remember ever having.

I have tried many eyelash serums in the past and none with results like I have seen with Castor Oil for achieving healthy eyelashes.

A side note on this one…Many people have asked me, since I put it all over my face? Do you get more peach fuzz, whiskers, or random hairs growing more often? No, I do not.

I did see a poll conducted by a Plastic Surgeon on Youtube, where he polled his viewers and determined (only by the responses) it appeared about 20% of people do see unwanted hair growth.

So you won’t know until you try it, but the benefits far outweigh this one possible drawback.

5. Moisturized and Strong Nails

If you have weak and brittle nails, hangnails, or irritations on or around your fingernails, castor oil may be the remedy you didn’t know you needed.

With regular application, the antimicrobial properties combat fungal infections and embrace healthy cuticles and healthy nail beds. This was a side benefit I was happy to receive, just for applying it to other areas.

Castor Oil Benefits for the Stomach

A) Castor oil can also be used for aches and pains. Since it is an anti-inflammatory product, it can soothe sore muscles, reduce joint pain, and alleviate weak joints.

B) If you take it orally it can act as a potent laxative. Effectively relieving constipation by stimulating bowel movements.

However, medical advice is paramount in this case.

How do I apply it?

I have been persistent with my application, let’s say about 99% of the time.

Here’s what my night-time routine usually looks like: I often mix castor oil with a concoction of other oils I am testing, focusing on skin health and overall hair health.

Step 1: After I’m done with my shower, I apply my serums.

Step 2: Then 2-3 nights a week I do Red Light Therapy.

Then apply a light Retin A prescribed to me at a low percentage, since I am new to it. I want to take my time to acclimate to it properly.

Side Tip: the castor oil has made it possible for me to use the Retin A every night now, without any irritation.

Step 3: I mist my face to re-hydrate with a peptide mist or a hyaluronic mist, but you can just use water as well.

Step 4: I use about a quarter size pour of castor oil into the palm of my hand and apply it first to my neck and then massage onto my face.

I rub the product in, and I must admit I’m not the most gentle person when it comes to the application. I don’t tug, but I do want to invigorate the cells and get blood flow happening.

Step 5: Then, I do get dressed right after the product is on.

I don’t wait for it to dry down or soak into the skin at all. I don’t find that it stains my clothes or my bedding. Oil does obviously get on the materials, but it washes out and I haven’t had it ruin or discolor anything.

I do use Cotton and/or Microfiber products personally for my PJs and Sheets, that I just picked up on AMAZON LINKED HERE. They are affordable and I guess pretty hardy to stand up to the castor oil nightly regimen.

If you want to buy the same castor oil I use, it is LINKED HERE.

I do recommend utilizing your entire bottle of castor oil within 30 days. Maybe up to 60 days. But remember it is natural and with all natural non preserved items, they can go rancid. The smell changes enough to bother me and so this is a rule I stick to myself.

So choose the right size for you, MY PICKS. Using any Castor Oil you like should be fine, just get the right amount that works within your routine.

Some key things to ensure your bottle of castor oil contains are:

  1. Dark glass bottle
  2. USDA certified Organic.
  3. Cold-Pressed: Look for cold pressed castor oil as it retains more nutrients and is a healthier extraction method
  4. Highly Rated, where ever you purchase it from.
  5. Free of additives, allergens, and chemicals.
  6. Make sure to pay attention to the expiration date.

I usually write on to the label of mine with a sharpie pen. That way I know how long I have had the bottle open. And it’s safe to use. Once I am close to the date I wrote, then I really start using it up quicker.

Castor oil has been an wonderful addition to my routine. Helping a host of symptoms, from promoting healthy skin, hair, and nails to providing relief from aches and pains. I feel like it has a lot of benefits for everyone.

A couple cautions I have heard, that I just want to pass along:

  • Absolutely DO NOT use if pregnant, it could cause contractions.
  • It may cause diarrhea, so start our sparingly if you are concerned or if you plan to drink it.

So let me know what your experience has been like in the past. Hoping to see you in the comment section!
